Israel must prepare for a “protracted campaign“ against Iran, said today the Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, quoted by Agence France-Presse, writes BTA.

He called on the population to prepare for “difficult days“.

“We have begun the most complex campaign in our history... We must be ready for a prolonged campaign“, said Eyal Zamir in a video message to the citizens of Israel.

“Despite significant progress, difficult days lie ahead. "We are preparing for many possible options," he said.

Iran said its missile attack on Israel today also targeted two air bases, DPA reported.

According to a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the targets of the 17th wave of attacks included military facilities, weapons industry sites, control centers and the Nevatim and Hatzerim air bases.

DPA notes that it cannot currently independently verify whether these targets were actually hit. According to Israeli data, a large number of people were injured in the attack.

Earlier today, Israeli media reported an attack on the coastal city of Haifa. The Ynet news website reported a total of 14 injuries in the area.

The Israeli military said Iran had fired a salvo of ballistic missiles, triggering air defense systems. Missile warnings were issued in several regions and residents were instructed to take cover. Authorities later lifted those warnings.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that strikes were also carried out in other locations. According to Ynet and Kan TV, a school building in central Israel was hit, with no injuries reported at this time.
