Russia attacks Ukraine's energy infrastructure with missiles and drones

According to Ukraine, four Russian cruise missiles and one hypersonic missile were also destroyed

Russian drones and missiles launched at night damaged energy infrastructure in central Ukraine, local military authorities reported today, quoted by DPA, BTA reported.

"Direct hits" and debris from downed drones were recorded in the area of the city of Kremenchuk in Poltava region, regional governor Volodymyr Kohut reported on "Telegram".

According to Kohut, one person was injured in the attack, but there is no information yet on the extent of the damage. Loud explosions were heard in the industrial city of Kremenchuk, about 250 km southeast of Kiev, local media reported.

Photos and videos published by the Ukrainian online media outlet "Strana" (Strana.ua) show smoke and flames. The media outlet reported that Russia's target was the Kremenchuk refinery.

According to Ukraine's air defenses, Russia used a total of 272 drones, including decoy drones, in its most recent attacks last night. A total of 252 Russian drones were intercepted or shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.

According to Ukraine, four Russian cruise missiles and one hypersonic missile were also destroyed. Information from the combat zone cannot be independently verified. Russian attacks last night have become a daily occurrence for Ukrainians since Moscow invaded Ukraine more than three years ago, DPA notes.
