Iran and Russia are coordinating their positions in connection with the heightened situation in the Middle East, TASS reported, citing the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Abbas Araghchi, who arrived in Moscow on a visit, BTA reported.
According to him, in the current situation, Tehran attaches great importance to consultations with Russia.
"In the current dangerous conditions, when the international order is actually facing a threat, our consultations with Russia can certainly be of great importance", the minister noted. "We are trying to coordinate our positions."
Araghchi added that close consultations are being held between Russia and Iran to address common challenges.
"We have always had common concerns, common worries and common opponents with Russia. "We always share common beliefs and are in close communication with each other to confront common challenges and threats. This is exactly what we are going to do today at the meeting with the Russian president," Araghchi said on Iranian television.
