Iranian state media reported on Monday that Ali Shadmani, the wartime chief of staff of Iran's armed forces, had died from wounds sustained during Israeli military strikes on Iran earlier this month, Reuters reported.
The command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vowed "harsh revenge" for his killing, Iranian media reported.
The Israeli military said on June 17 that it had killed Ali Shadmani, considered Iran's most senior military commander, Reuters noted.
