Russian troops continue to strike in the northern and eastern parts of Ukraine. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine are counterattacking and holding back attacks in key directions. This is stated in the latest report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), RBC-Ukraine reports, quoted by Focus.
According to the report, Russian troops attacked unspecified areas of the Kursk region on June 24 and 25. Russian forces have continued offensive operations in the northern part of Sumy Oblast, but have not advanced.
There are reports that the Russian army has reached the N-07 Sumy-Sudzha highway east of Pisarovka, but has been forced to withdraw from the area for unspecified reasons.
According to analysts, Russian troops have stormed near Andreevka, Oleksiyevka and Yablunivka in Sumy Oblast.
Towards Kharkiv: According to ISW, there are reports of Russian troops advancing in the northern and northwestern parts of Volchansk. The Russians have also attacked near Liptsy.
Towards Kupyansk. The Russians claim to be 1 km from Kupyansk. ISW cites geolocation data that as of June 25, Russian forces had advanced 3.4 km from the northern administrative border of Kupyansk.
On the Liman direction. The AFU reportedly advanced north of Liman on June 24.
Analysts note that the Russian army has continued offensive operations, but without success.
Chasov Yar and Toretsk. Russian forces are attacking near Chasov Yar and nearby. The Russians are also putting pressure on the Toretsk direction, but are not advancing.
On the Pokrovskoye direction. The report states that Russian forces have advanced. According to geolocation data, they have recently advanced north of Shevchenskoye Pervoe and into Lysivka.
On the Novopavlovka direction. Analysts suggest that the Russians may have captured the city of Yalta. There are also reports of an advance by Ukrainian troops towards Velika Novosilka.
As noted in the report, on June 25, Russian troops continued limited offensive operations in the western part of Zaporizhia Oblast, but made no progress. Russian troops also advanced southwest from Orikhiv towards Novoandreyevka and near Kamianske.
