After the successful strikes by Israel and the United States against military and nuclear targets in Iran, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan admitted that Russian air defense systems are not enough to protect Turkey in the event of war.

Russian S-400 missile systems cannot fully satisfy Turkey's air defense needs, the country's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, The Moscow Times reported.

„Our society has clearly understood this in recent days [in connection with the war between Israel and Iran]. We need to create a multi-level air defense system,” Erdogan said.

The attack on Iran showed that the Russian air defense systems, which the Islamic Republic is armed with, are absolutely useless against strikes by modern Western weapons.

Erdogan recalled the “Steel Dome” project, which combines multi-altitude air defense systems, sensors and electronic warfare systems. However, he stressed that Turkey’s progress in this area remains “insufficient.”
