The flames broke out shortly before 1:30 p.m. in a wooded area, and according to data from the Agency for Prevention and Management of Emergency Situations (AP-MPO), the fire is spreading rapidly and is already approaching settlements and coastal tourist sites.
42 firefighters, 10 fire trucks and 3 helicopters are participating in the fight against the fire.
A message from the 112 telephone number has been sent to residents of the area warning them to be on high alert and follow the instructions of the authorities. According to the information, strong winds are helping the spread of the flames and causing new outbreaks, which is hindering the efforts of the firefighting teams.
