Washington warned Tehran of its intention to strike Iranian nuclear facilities two hours before the attack.

This was stated on Sunday by the former advisor to the US Secretary of Defense, Colonel (retd) Douglas McGregor.

„I would like to clarify. The United States warned Iran two hours before the strikes on its nuclear facilities that an attack would be carried out“, he wrote in X.

US leader Donald Trump earlier stated that the authorities of the Islamic Republic did not know until the last moment that the United States would strike its nuclear facilities. Trump also said that no one could imagine that the United States would attack the Fordow nuclear facility, as it is considered impenetrable.

Israel launched a military operation against Iran on the night of June 13. Less than a day later, the Islamic Republic carried out a retaliatory attack.

Nine days after the conflict escalated, the United States intervened: on the night of June 22, US forces attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities.

On the evening of June 23, Tehran launched a missile attack on the largest US air base in the Middle East, Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Trump later announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a complete ceasefire.

The ceasefire came into effect on June 24.
