According to Spain's national meteorological service, a new June temperature record of 46°C was set in the town of El Granado. The same source reports that this month is on track to be the hottest June on record.

A woman in Barcelona died after finishing her shift as a street cleaner on Saturday, when temperatures were very high, according to an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
