Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that he will visit the United States next week to meet with President Donald Trump after the “great victory” in the 12-day war with Iran last month, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Netanyahu said before a meeting of the Israeli cabinet that his visit would also include talks with other senior officials such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

“We still have a few things to finalize to conclude a trade agreement, among other issues“, the Israeli prime minister said, referring to Trump's plans to impose tariffs.

“I will also have meetings with leaders from the Senate and the House of Representatives, as well as several security meetings“, he added.

Trump last month announced a ceasefire that ended hostilities between Israel and Iran.

The US president said last week that his administration would send letters to a number of countries by July 9 notifying them of the higher tariffs, as the tariffs are expected to rise from the temporary level of 10% to between 11% and 50%, as announced on April 2, before the increase was delayed for 90 days.

The US had initially set tariffs of 17% on Israeli goods.
