Ukrainian arms companies may soon produce weapons and ammunition on Danish territory, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lun Poulsen said today in Copenhagen, quoted by DPA, BTA reports.
The Danish minister explained that talks on this issue are currently underway with the Ukrainian government. He expressed his expectation that there would be clarity on this topic by September or October, citing drones and missiles as examples of weapons that could be produced in Denmark.
Production in Denmark would allow Ukrainian companies to operate under conditions where they would not be threatened by Russian attacks.
According to Poulsen, further political talks are needed because it is currently not legally possible for Ukrainian arms companies to move their production to other European countries. New legislation will first have to be adopted in Ukraine, the minister noted.
Poulsen made this statement at a press conference of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which began yesterday.
