South Korean President Lee Jae-myeon said at a press conference today marking his first 30 days in office that he would normalize conditions for democracy in the country and quickly improve relations with China and Russia, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
He said that on the other hand, he was doing his best for a "mutually beneficial and sustainable" outcome of trade talks with the United States.
"It's time for the government to show courage in its policies," Lee Jae-myeon noted.
The head of state, who was elected on June 3 in early elections, a consequence of the impeachment of Yun Suk-yeol, who imposed martial law in December, has guaranteed that he will also create normal conditions for foreign policy. He said South Korea was going through a "national crisis".
Lee Jae-myung's government has already proposed a $14.7 billion budget increase, Reuters reports.
