The Polish consulate in Kiev is among the buildings damaged in the large-scale Russian air strike carried out on the night of July 3-4.
This was announced by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in a post on social networks. According to him, the strike caused serious fires and significant damage, including to the Polish diplomatic mission in the Ukrainian capital.
"President Trump, Putin is mocking your peace efforts. Please resume supplies of anti-aircraft ammunition to Ukraine and impose new heavy sanctions against the aggressor", Sikorski wrote, directly addressing the US president.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the attack was "one of the largest air strikes" since the start of the war, with Kiev once again being the main target. Russian missiles have hit multiple targets in and around the capital, with authorities reporting dozens of injuries and significant damage.
Sikorski's call comes at a time when Western aid to Ukraine is under pressure and Washington has temporarily frozen deliveries of some key weapons, including air defense.
We recall that on Thursday the presidents of the United States and Russia held another telephone conversation, after which the American president said he was "not satisfied".
"We talked. It was a pretty long conversation. We talked about a lot of things, including Iran, and we also talked about the war with Ukraine. I'm not happy with that," Trump told reporters as he left Washington on his way to Iowa.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the phone call, saying that Putin and Trump are very different people who do not have a common language.
At the same time, he added that the Ukrainian authorities had supported Trump's idea of an unconditional ceasefire from the very beginning.
"I have repeatedly said that we are ready for any format of the meeting, and I think that in Russia only Putin is the one who makes real decisions," Zelensky said.
Trump and Zelensky will hold a phone call dedicated to the suspension of US military supplies to Ukraine. The conversation is scheduled for Friday, July 4, but the exact date and time can still be changed.
