The delivery of F-35 fighter jets from Turkey and Greece's position on this issue are the subject of comment by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He commented on the issue to journalists who accompanied him during his return from a visit to Azerbaijan, Proto Thema reports, quoted by Focus.

The Turkish president stated that "Greece's concerns about the steps Turkey has taken in the field of defense are inappropriate and meaningless", Erdogan said, adding that "Turkey is not a threat to any country, does not endanger anyone's security and interests, and does not show hostility towards any country".

He also stated that he discussed the F-35 issue with Donald Trump during their meeting on the sidelines of the recent NATO summit and expressed hope that the US president will remain faithful to the agreement they reached on this issue.

"I believe that the gradual delivery of the F-35 to Turkey will take place during his mandate“, Recep Tayyip Erdogan concluded.
