With the passage of a cold front through Slovenia, most mountain peaks in the country were covered with July snow, reports the Slovenian editorial office of the regional television En 1, quoted by BTA.
Snow fell this morning on the peaks of Kredarica and Kanin. The peaks at an altitude of 2,200 meters are covered with snow.
The cold front in Slovenia is already passing, although temperatures on the snow-capped peaks are currently around 0 degrees, according to information from the Slovenian Environmental Agency (ARSO). The weather is expected to clear up in the afternoon. Around midnight, the southern part of the country is expected to be covered in precipitation, and storms are also expected along the coast.
Next week, temperatures are expected to reach 30 degrees again in the plains, and the snow on the mountains will be melted quickly by the strong sun.
