US Transportation Secretary to Lead NASA Acting

President Trump Announces Decision on Social Media

US President Donald Trump has named Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy as acting administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The American leader published the article on Truth Social on Wednesday.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of our great Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy as acting administrator of NASA“, Trump said. According to him, Duffy, “even if only for a short time, will be a fantastic leader for an increasingly important space agency“.

In early June, Trump withdrew the nomination of billionaire and space tourist Jared Isaacman for the post of NASA administrator. In late April, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation recommended that Isaacman be confirmed as the head of the agency. On July 6, Trump said that entrepreneur Elon Musk had asked him to appoint a close friend of his to head the agency, without specifying who he was referring to. American media outlets have called Isaacman a Musk protégé.
