Temperatures in Turkey in June 2025 were more than a degree above normal for the season, according to official statistics cited by local media, BTA reports.
The average temperature for the month was 23°C, 1.2 degrees Celsius above the long-term norm for this period of the year.
The deviations from normal temperatures were recorded in a number of regions, including Istanbul, Eastern Anatolia and the Black Sea region of the country, the national television TRT Haber reported.
The lowest temperature measured during the month was -0.2°C in Erzurum, in the eastern part of the country, while the highest reached 45.6°C in the city of Cizre, Sirnak district, in southeastern Anatolia.
According to meteorological services, June 2025 is the fourth hottest June in Turkey in the last 55 years.
