The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday that its forces had captured the village of Zelena Dolina in Ukraine's Donetsk region, Reuters and TASS reported, quoted by BTA.
The ministry published video footage showing Russian drone strikes on Ukrainian positions in Zelena Dolina.
The footage shows numerous drone strikes on positions of the Ukrainian armed forces, as well as a Russian serviceman with a Russian flag next to a memorial to those who died in World War II in the village.
The capture of Zelena Dolina will allow Russian troops to accelerate their advance north of Krasny Liman (the old name of the Ukrainian city of Liman – ed.), said the Russian-appointed local official Igor Kimakovsky.
According to him, the operation has also created the conditions for limiting the enemy's logistics in this section of the front. Reuters notes that it cannot verify the claims about the situation on the front through independent sources.
