Relatives of soldiers from the 225th Assault Regiment (OSHR) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who went missing near the border with the Russian Belgorod region in March held a mass protest in the center of Kiev, Russian security services told TASS.
„In Kiev, they were forced to remember the Krasnoyarsk direction. Thus, relatives and friends of the missing soldiers of the 225th Special Forces Division reminded the command of the Ukrainian army of the March provocation of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian SSR, who went out for a mass protest in the center of the capital,“ said the agency's interlocutor.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov announced at the end of April during a report to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the group “North“ has completed the destruction of Ukrainian sabotage groups near the village of Popovka in the Belgorod region.
Assault groups of the 425th separate assault regiment (OSHR) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, urgently transferred from the training grounds of the Lviv region to the Kharkiv region, were withdrawn from the Melovo area in Khatne due to losses, the Russian security services also reported.
„Interrogations of prisoners of war showed that the enemy tried to regain lost positions in this sector of the front with the forces of several assault groups of the 425th OSHR, urgently transferred from the training grounds of the Lviv region. Having suffered colossal losses, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine withdrew the assault troops in the Khatne area,“ the source said.
He noted that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues to transfer personnel, building a line of defense along the Khatne-Ambarnoye line. “The fighters of “North“ are crushing the units of the 143rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which remain in their positions south of Melovi, advancing deep into the Kharkiv region,“ the source noted.
Earlier, the security forces told TASS that artillerymen and drone operators of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are striking the Ukrainian 143rd separate mechanized brigade in the direction of Velikiy Burluk. This is likely due to the loss of communication between the units, the Russian security forces noted. The agency's source explained that “the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine between Melovi and Khatnee-Ambarn were essentially abandoned by the command“.
