A large forest fire is raging in the area of the city of Urla in the Izmir district, TRT Haber reports. Dozens of helicopters and planes, as well as a large number of firefighters, BTA reported.
The fire broke out yesterday at around 5:00 p.m. in the Bademler district area near the city of Urla.
According to information from the governor of Izmir, Suleyman Elban, five planes, 16 helicopters, 47 tankers, numerous construction machines and bulldozers, as well as nearly 600 firefighters, are involved in extinguishing the flames.
The cause of the fire is still unclear.
