The unusual case has caused quite a stir in the media. The 20-year-old man "escaped" from a prison in Lyon on Friday in the bag of another prisoner who was about to be released. However, the escape was short-lived - BFM television reported today that prosecutors announced his capture in a village in southern France.
The escapee had served several sentences and was under investigation for organized crime. According to the "Progre" newspaper, he is suspected of involvement in a double murder. His escape from prison on Friday was not known for more than 24 hours.
According to the newspaper "Parisien", the 20-year-old managed to escape with a large laundry bag after a cellmate asked prison officials for a cart to carry his personal belongings to the car that would pick him up after his release.
