NATO to Brazil, China and India: Call on Putin for a ceasefire or risk sanctions

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned countries outside the conflict of possible secondary sanctions if they do not put pressure on Russia

Brazil, China and India should approach Russian President Vladimir Putin and call on him to declare a ceasefire if they want to avoid secondary sanctions. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, quoted by Fox News, reports Focus.

„This is important. So if you are in Beijing, Delhi or Brazil today and you know what is coming, you probably want to call Putin and tell him: ‘Hey, buddy, we are still trading with you, but you need to seriously start negotiations for a ceasefire or a peace agreement. Otherwise we will face secondary sanctions,’“ commented Rutte.

The warning comes in the context of a statement on July 14, when US President Donald Trump threatened to impose 100% secondary tariffs on Russia's trading partners if a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine is not reached within the next 50 days.
