Russia attacked Ukraine last night with more than 300 combat drones and over 30 missiles of various types, killing one person, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on "Telegram", quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reported.
The Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, Kherson, Volyn, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odessa and Zhytomyr regions were affected. In Sumy, the attack caused damage to strategic infrastructure, where several thousand households were left without electricity.
"In Odessa, damage was caused to a residential building - one person died and six people were injured, including a child. My condolences to the family and loved ones," Zelensky said, quoted by Ukrinform.
The situation in Pavlograd in eastern Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region is particularly dire, with damage to residential buildings and key infrastructure. Regional governor Serhiy Lysak described the night as "hell" and said it was the most serious attack on the city so far, DPA noted.
According to Zelensky, the number of attacks that night significantly exceeded the usual number in recent days. He said that the new package of sanctions adopted yesterday by the EU had clearly not affected Moscow.
"I thank all leaders who understand how important it is to quickly implement our agreements. "The joint production of weapons, investments in the production of drones in Ukraine (especially interceptor drones), the provision of air defense systems and missiles for them, as well as the possibility of their production here, in Ukraine - all this saves human lives and is what Ukraine needs at this moment," the Ukrainian president emphasized.
