The international military-technical forum "Army 2025" near the Russian capital Moscow has been postponed to a later date, the forum organizer "International Congresses and Exhibitions" announced, quoted by TASS, BTA reported.

The event was planned to be held from August 11 to 14 in the "Patriot" park near Moscow. So far, there is no information about when it will actually take place, DPA adds.

The "Army 2025" forum is known for its large exhibition of weapons, modern military equipment and drones. According to the forum's official website, this year over 1,500 participants were expected, as well as over 28,000 exhibits. Invitations have been sent to delegations from over 100 countries.

Established in 2015, the forum is a key platform for the Russian Defense Ministry and Armed Forces, through which the country's military power is presented and exports, as well as Moscow's international defense partnerships, are promoted.

The cancellation of the forum comes amid heightened security concerns in the Moscow region, where, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian drones are shot down almost daily. As a result, air traffic restrictions in the area are increasingly being introduced.

It has not yet been confirmed whether security considerations are behind the decision to postpone the "Army 2025" forum, DPA notes.

Despite the ongoing war with Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin claims that the Russian defense industry must fulfill its commitments to its foreign partners.
