The Turkish Parliament has approved an amendment to the law that allows the regulated cultivation and sale of medical cannabis in Turkish pharmacies, the website “Türkiye Today“ reported, quoted by BTA.

According to the amendment, the process of growing, producing and distributing medical cannabis will be monitored by the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Turkish Ministry of Health, with the former being responsible for cultivating cannabis, and the latter for the production and distribution of medical devices containing the substance.

The amendment to the law applies to products that have a low content of medical cannabis and have no psychotropic effect, and they will be distributed in pharmacies that have received special permission for this and can only be taken with a doctor's prescription.
