Ten people have died and fourteen are in hospital after battling severe wildfires raging in Turkey, Turkish state television "TRT Haber" reported, citing information from Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli, BTA reported.
In the fire, which started in Eskisehir (Western Turkey) and reached the Afyonkarahisar region (Western Turkey), 24 people were trapped in the fire due to changing wind direction.
The fire has killed five volunteer rescue workers and five forest workers. Another 14 forest workers have been hospitalized. Seven major fires are currently raging in Turkey. Due to the rising temperatures expected tomorrow, authorities are warning citizens to be even more careful.
