Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office confirmed that Israel has received Hamas' response to its Gaza ceasefire proposal, specifying that it is being reviewed, AFP reported, noting that indirect talks in Qatar have been ongoing for more than two weeks, BTA reported.

"The mediators have delivered Hamas' response to the Israeli negotiating team and it is currently being reviewed," the statement said.

Last night, Hamas said it had delivered its response to Israel's proposal for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza.

The response included proposed changes to the clauses for the entry of humanitarian aid, maps of areas from which the Israeli army must withdraw, as well as guarantees for a final end to the war, according to a Palestinian source close to the talks.

Negotiators from both sides are holding mediated talks in Qatar in an attempt to reach a ceasefire agreement that would allow the release of ten Israeli hostages in exchange for an unspecified number of Palestinian prisoners. But the talks have dragged on for more than two weeks without a breakthrough, with each side accusing the other of refusing to make concessions, AFP reported.
