An Antonov-24 passenger plane crashed in Russia near the Chinese border. As FAKTI reported, the plane fell in a difficult-to-reach mountainous area near the city of Tynda (Amur Region).

According to the latest information, the plane crashed on landing. The crew went on a second go-around, but failed to land the plane at the airport.

No alarm was raised. Local media wrote that the plane failed to land in Tynda on the first attempt due to low cloud cover.

Emergency services told TASS that the version of the crash was a crew error during the landing approach in poor visibility. The plane was technically repaired before takeoff, emergency services said. The Investigative Committee said the main versions of the An-24 crash were aircraft malfunction and human error.

Eyewitnesses filmed the plane flying in the Tynda region shortly before the crash. The footage was posted on the Telegram channel Mash.
