Poland prepares for war in Europe! Warsaw secures $4 billion US defense loan

Poland is preparing to sign a $4 billion US-guaranteed loan that will help finance the modernization of its armed forces, the Polish Defense Ministry said on Thursday, quoted by "Reuters".

Amid heightened regional tensions and Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine, Poland is increasing defense spending and accelerating efforts to modernize its army, aimed at strengthening NATO's eastern flank.

From 2022 Since then, the United States has provided Poland with loans and loan guarantees worth more than $11 billion to finance weapons programs, including Patriot air defense systems, the HIMARS missile system, and Apache helicopters.

Prodded by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Poland spends the most on defense in NATO relative to its GDP.

Warsaw has said it will spend 4.7% of its gross domestic product on defense in 2025, with a pledge to increase that share to 5% in 2026.
