Thailand rejected on Monday offers of mediation from third parties to end the ongoing conflict with Cambodia. At the same time, Bangkok called on Phnom Penh to stop the attacks and seek a solution to the crisis only through bilateral talks, the Thai Foreign Ministry said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.

The United States, China and Malaysia, which currently holds the chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), have offered to facilitate dialogue between the two countries. However, Thailand has stressed that it prefers the confrontation to be resolved without foreign interference.

“I don't think we need third-party mediation at this stage“, said a foreign ministry spokesman in Bangkok.
