The Main Naval Parade in 2025 will not be held in St. Petersburg, the city's transport committee said, quoted by the BBC.
"Events dedicated to the celebration of Navy Day will not be held in the waters of St. Petersburg on July 27. Fireworks, the Main Naval Parade, as well as the march of columns of sailing, rowing and motor vessels and jets are canceled", the statement said.
Since 2017, the Main Naval Parade has been held annually in St. Petersburg on Navy Day, the last Sunday in July, in accordance with President Putin's decree. This year, the parade was canceled for the first time since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
According to the Russian publication "Fontanka", the event was canceled for security reasons.
