Zelensky visited a drone factory and ordered: I want 500 to 1,000 per day! VIDEO

American military helicopter manufacturer intends to invest in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited a plant yesterday that produces interceptor drones, which are considered key to defense against Russian air attacks, Reuters reported.

He set a production rate - to produce between 500 and 1,000 drones per day.

In his traditional evening video address to the nation, the Ukrainian leader announced that the newly appointed Defense Minister Denys Shmygal - a former prime minister of the country - had introduced him to foreign aid that would allow Ukraine to "guarantee a reliable flow of weapons to Ukrainian soldiers".

"I called for a meeting of the Technology Headquarters to be prepared with a focus on drones," Zelensky announced. "A standard for the production of 500-1,000 interceptor drones per day was approved. A schedule was drawn up, and achieving the set goal is the personal responsibility of everyone in the chain," the Ukrainian head of state said.

Earlier this month, Zelensky said that interceptor drones had proven to be an effective means of deterring waves of Russian attack drones directed against Ukrainian cities, Reuters recalls.

The American company that produces military helicopters - "Bell", is considering investing in production in Ukraine, Ukrinform reported, citing a post on the social platform "Facebook" of the Ukrainian Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev.

"In my first week as minister, I had several important meetings, at which my main tasks were discussed, aimed at continuing the work for the benefit of all countries," he wrote.

In this regard, the Ukrainian minister mentioned a working meeting with "Bell" - a subsidiary of "Textron", specializing in the production of modern military helicopters of the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom models.

According to Sobolev, the American company is already planning to invest and start production in Ukraine. The government in Kiev, for its part, is ready to support this initiative with effective programs for foreign investors, Ukrinform adds.
