US Vice President J.D. Vance could run for president in the 2028 elections, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio believes.
“I think J.D. would be a great candidate“, he said in an interview with Fox News.
Rubio was asked if he planned to run for president in 2028. “You never know what the future holds. Nothing is out of the question“, he replied, adding that he is currently fully focused on his work at the State Department.
“I want to do this job as long as the president lets me. "I think if I hold this position while Trump is president and we work at the same pace as we have in the last six months, I will be able to say that I have served my country well and I will be satisfied if this is the pinnacle of my career," Rubio concluded.
Earlier, the Semaphore portal reported that Vance and Rubio are considered the most likely candidates for the Republican nomination for president and vice president in the 2028 elections. At the same time, as the publication pointed out, Rubio, who not only heads the State Department but also serves as an adviser to the American leader on national security, has ambitions to become president of the United States.
