At least eight people were injured in a Russian drone and missile attack on Kiev overnight, Ukrainian authorities said, quoted by DPA, BTA reported.
The head of the Kiev city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, said today that a three-year-old child was among the injured. Four people have been admitted to hospital, one of them in critical condition.
Explosions were reported to have been heard in the Ukrainian capital late last night, with a new wave of attacks in the early hours of today. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said air defense systems had been activated in the city.
Drone strikes and explosions were also reported in the central city of Kropyvnytskyi. In recent weeks, Russia has been subjecting Ukraine to intense attacks with combat drones in an attempt to break Ukrainian air defenses.
Our air defense forces shot down seven Ukrainian drones over Russia last night, the Russian Defense Ministry reported, as quoted by TASS.
Air defense forces on duty destroyed seven Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles: four over the territory of the Rostov region and one each over the Oryol, Kaluga and Bryansk regions, the ministry said.
