Paris investigates assassination order for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's lawyer

Olivier Pardo was informed by the would-be perpetrator that members of Hezbollah had approached him with an order

French authorities have launched an investigation into a possible assassination order for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's lawyer, Olivier Pardo, AFP reported, citing the Paris prosecutor's office.

According to her, Pardo spoke about this after one of the former prisoners and former police informant, Rudy Terranova, told him on July 16 that during a trip to Senegal, members of the Hezbollah movement had approached him with the aim of ordering an assassination attempt on Pardo. He also noted that the lawyer was targeted because of his work with Netanyahu.

“I am confident that the judicial system will determine whether this is a real or phantom threat“, Pardo told AFP.

It is noted that Rudi Terranova was detained by police on July 21 as part of the investigation into this case.

In 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed between October 8, 2023, and May 20, 2024, in Palestine, including the Gaza Strip.
