Ukrainian drones have probably carried out a night attack on an electronic module plant in the Russian city of Penza, both Russian and Ukrainian sources reported, cited by the BBC.

Footage posted in groups on the social network "VKontakte" shows a column of thick smoke rising above an industrial area in the city. In the comments under the videos, users report several explosions and claim that the target of the strike was the so-called "Radio Plant" and two other enterprises.

An air alert was declared in Penza overnight due to a threat from drones. The city of Penza is located 630 kilometers southeast of Moscow.

The official morning report of the Russian Ministry of Defense does not mention Penza and the region, but it is reported that by 4:00 a.m., 32 Ukrainian drones had been shot down over the Volgograd, Voronezh, Belgorod, Tambov and Rostov regions, as well as over the annexed Crimea.

The Penza "Radio Plant", according to its official website, produces high-tech electronic modules and is considered part of the Russian defense complex. So far, there has been no confirmation from official authorities about the extent of the damage or possible casualties.
