Russia has fired eight missiles and over 300 drones against Ukraine in a large-scale night attack, the main target of which was the capital Kiev. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a statement published on Telegram, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reports.

According to the latest data, at least six people were killed and 52 were injured in the attack. Among the victims is a 6-year-old child. The hardest hit are the Svyatoshynsky and Solominsky districts of Kiev, where residential buildings were hit, and in one of the districts an entire part of an apartment building was destroyed.

„We are doing everything possible to fully implement all agreements on the protection of "Our people must ensure that every agreement serves the purpose of saving lives," Zelensky said. He stressed that Kiev was the main target of the attack.

In addition to the capital, attacks were also registered in Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumy, Mykolaiv and Kyiv regions. Emergency teams, firefighters, medics and rescuers were sent to the scene to provide support to the victims.

“Today the world once again saw Russia's response to our desire for peace, shared with America and Europe. New, demonstrative killings. That is why peace without force is impossible“, the Ukrainian president also pointed out.

Zelensky said that the only way to achieve peace is through pressure on Russia: “Let's force Moscow to sit at a real negotiating table, all the necessary tools for this are in the hands of our partners. We are counting on everything that America and Europe are saying now to achieve this goal.“
