Former US President Joe Biden warned that his homeland awaits "dark days" under the leadership of the current American leader Donald Trump.
This was stated by the former president during the annual gala concert of the National Bar Association in Chicago, CNN reported.
Biden noted that the executive branch seems to be doing everything possible to repeal the Constitution.
Trump's decree, which provides for the introduction of trade duties on imports from 69 countries and territories, came into force on August 1. The base rate is 10%, the maximum - 41%.
The exceptions are China, Mexico and Canada. Washington and Beijing are negotiating a trade agreement, so the US has extended the suspension of tariffs by 90 days. The same decision was made with regard to Mexico. For Canada, the US increased tariffs from 25% to 35%.
Russia and Ukraine are not included in the list. In July, Trump first set a 50-day deadline for resolving the conflict between the countries, and then shortened it to 10-12 days.
He explained this decision by the fact that he had not seen progress in resolving the crisis. The US president warned that if the situation does not change during this time, Washington will impose tariffs, sanctions or other measures against Moscow.
