The Israel Defense Forces Announced the Destruction of the "Beit Hanoun" Battalion

The Israel Defense Forces announced the elimination of the deputy commander of the "Al-Furqan" battalion of the radical Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip.

According to the army press service, the eliminated radical was responsible for the battalion's combat support and participated in organizing numerous attacks against army units in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier today, the Israel Defense Forces announced the elimination of the Hamas "Beit Hanoun" battalion, which operated in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. According to the army press service, the last members of this unit surrendered to the Israeli military on 2 August.

“The “Beit Hanoun“ battalion, which posed a threat to the city of Sderot, has been destroyed. This is another achievement within the framework of the “Gideon's Chariots“ operation,“ the press service said in a statement. The department added that “today, a combat group from the “Givati“ battalion under the command of the 162nd division operated in the Beit Hanoun area“. “During the operation, servicemen found several militants emerging from a tunnel shaft, who surrendered to the troops“, the press service added.
