US Air Force fighter jets were scrambled after a civilian plane entered restricted airspace over a golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, where US President Donald Trump was staying.
This was reported by representatives of the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
According to the statement, the fighter jets “intercepted a civilian plane that violated restricted airspace over Bedminster“. Several similar violations have occurred in the area before.
The military said that during the interception they fired flares to attract the pilot's attention.
The US President owns the golf course in question and often spends his weekends there.
