The Cambodian Ministry of Defense announced that the Thai armed forces have not yet removed the barbed wire fence installed in the Anse region. A territory that is within Cambodia. This was reported by the state news agency AKP, BTA reports.

The ministry specifies that negotiations are currently underway between the two countries with the aim of peacefully resolving the tension.

According to the statement, the incident occurred yesterday at around 11:00 a.m. local time (07:00 Bulgarian time), when Thai soldiers, accompanied by heavy equipment and excavators, entered the Anse area and erected a barbed wire fence despite categorical objections from Cambodian forces.

In response, the Cambodian armed forces immediately contacted their Thai counterparts demanding the removal of the wire fences and the withdrawal of the equipment from Cambodian territory.

“This action by Thailand constitutes a clear and flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement and poses a serious threat to peace and security along the border, as well as to stability in the entire region,“ said Lieutenant General Mali Socheata, Deputy Secretary of State and spokesperson for the Cambodian Ministry of Defense.

She called on the international community, especially the countries that contributed to the ceasefire, to put pressure on Thailand to stop "aggressive actions" and respect international law, including Cambodia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"Thailand must immediately cease its hostile actions, remove the fence and withdraw its equipment from Cambodian territory. There can be no justification for violating our territorial integrity," Socheata stressed.
