American President Donald Trump climbed onto the roof of one of the White House buildings today and joked that he could place nuclear missiles there, Agence France-Presse reported.
Surrounded by bodyguards, Trump walked for about twenty minutes on the roof of the White House press conference room. In front of journalists at a distance, he inspected the place where he plans to build a ballroom.
When asked what he was thinking of building, he jokingly replied: "Missiles", "nuclear missiles".
He also said that he had taken a little walk. "This is just another way for me to spend my money for the country", the president said, emphasizing that he himself is financing the White House renovations he has requested.
Trump joked at a time when there is a verbal escalation between the United States and Russia.
The American president said a few days ago that he had ordered nuclear submarines to be deployed "in the appropriate regions" in response to statements by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, which Trump assessed as a provocation.
