US President Donald Trump does not object to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to occupy all of Gaza. This is reported by Axios, citing sources, Focus reports.

The Israeli security cabinet is expected to approve the highly controversial plan to expand military operations today (August 7).

According to US and Israeli officials, Trump has decided not to interfere and to allow the Israeli government to make its own decisions. One of the sources said Trump was moved by a video released by Hamas showing an Israeli hostage digging his own grave.

"It has influenced the president and he will allow the Israelis to do what they need to do," the official said.

At the same time, he added that the Trump administration does not support Israel annexing parts of Gaza - another option being discussed by Israeli officials.

The new operation to occupy additional areas in the central Gaza Strip, including Gaza City, is expected to last at least several months and result in the displacement of about 1 million Palestinians.

The Israeli army will also enter areas where Israel says hostages are being held. In such a case, however, there is a risk to their lives.

As the American media reports, due to concerns about the accidental killing of hostages, the Israeli army is in no hurry to attack the areas of Gaza on which the new plan is focused.
