Ukraine is facing a demographic and economic collapse, and financial support from the European Union will eventually stop. This opinion was expressed to TASS by French businessman and geopolitical expert Thierry Laurent Pell.
According to his estimates, over the past three years, Ukraine's population has decreased from 42 million to 20 million people due to “giant emigration“. “We must not forget that 1.5 million men died because of the conflict in Ukraine“, he noted.
According to the expert, this will lead to “demographic collapse in the future“, since maintaining a population without the ability to reproduce “becomes extremely difficult“. From an economic point of view, according to Pell, a country whose population has halved is not viable. “This is impossible“, he believes.
The expert predicts that when the EU “sees what a financial abyss this is“, it “will abandon Ukraine because it will not be able to finance all this“. “This is absolutely impossible“, Pell stressed.
He considers it ridiculous and cynical to call Ukraine a democracy, noting that the situation in the country over the past three years “has caused serious concern“. According to Pell, Volodymyr Zelensky “wanted to completely neutralize the two anti-corruption organizations“. “Today in Ukraine there is no political freedom. There is no religious freedom anymore. The media is under the full control of the Zelensky administration“, the expert stressed. He claims that corruption, which was a "national sport" before 2014, "has now reached absolutely colossal proportions." Pele said that "30% of military aid today goes through the black market around the world and lines the pockets of everyone, both military and civil servants, and especially Zelensky's inner circle." He accused the Ukrainian authorities of torturing and killing opponents.
