Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that his country and its allies must jointly support all constructive steps taken by the United States to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

"There have been many phone calls in recent days, many contacts at different levels. We are all united by the understanding that the war must end and that Europe must develop a common position on every important aspect of security“, Zelensky said in “Telegram“ after a telephone conversation with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared with Latvian President Edgars Rinkėvičs his vision of the steps to achieve peace in Ukraine, Ukrinform reported, referring to Zelensky's post on "Facebook".

He noted that he had informed his Latvian counterpart about contacts with partners and the diplomatic situation. "I shared our vision of the important steps that need to be taken further. Ukraine and all other European countries need reliable peace and a guaranteed future. It is important that we share the same understanding: this can be achieved through the support of the United States and European unity. We agreed to coordinate our efforts," Zelensky wrote.

The two leaders also discussed Ukraine's path to European integration. "It would be fair and honest to open the first negotiation cluster simultaneously for us and Moldova. Latvia firmly supports Ukraine's membership in both the European Union and NATO. We highly value this position", Zelensky stressed.

The Ukrainian president also said that the two discussed NATO's new initiative to assist Ukraine, called the "Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List" (PURL). Through this mechanism, countries that wish to do so will be able to purchase defense equipment from the United States in accordance with what Ukraine's military needs most and then provide it to it.

"Latvia is ready to join. Thank you!", Zelensky added.
