The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip has worsened to “unimaginable levels“, dozens of Western countries warned today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.

A total of 27 partner countries, including Canada, Australia, Britain and Japan, as well as the European Union, appealed to Israel to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territory.

“The famine is happening before our eyes. "Urgent action is needed to end this situation," the foreign ministers of these countries said in a joint statement published by the UK.

They called on the Israeli government to ensure access to all humanitarian aid shipments sent by international NGOs and to end the blockade of the activities of key humanitarian organizations.
