The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have made progress in the Liman direction, one of the key sectors of the front. This is reported in the latest report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), quoted by RBC-Ukraine, reports Focus.
Video recordings with geolocation, published on August 14, show that Ukrainian units have managed to occupy new positions.
At the same time, Russian sources claim their own successes, according to which Russian troops have advanced north of Serednoye and 500 meters within the boundaries of Shandrigolovo (both settlements are northwest of Liman). However, ISW specifies that there is no confirmation of this data.
The analysis indicates that Russian forces are carrying out attacks from several directions in an attempt to regain lost positions and stop the Ukrainian offensive.
A spokesman for the Ukrainian brigade operating in the area reports a significant buildup of Russian troops and constant replenishment of reserves. According to him, the enemy units have undergone only a month of training and are attacking with small fire groups of two to four infantrymen.
In addition, the zone of defeat by Russian drones in this direction reaches a depth of 15 to 20 kilometers.
