The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation, the Kazinform agency reports, citing Akorda.

The Head of State of Kazakhstan congratulated his Russian counterpart on the results of the meeting with US President Donald Trump in Anchorage.

According to Tokayev, the talks contributed to a better understanding on the part of the American side of the Russian position on Ukraine, which will help find a common language on this complex issue. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev considers the Alaska summit a breakthrough event in terms of strengthening Russia's international positions and mutual understanding on the world stage.

He also noted the skillful organization of the visit, which is of great political importance in the current tense situation.
