Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a resident of Anchorage, Alaska, a new "Ural" motorcycle during his meeting with his American counterpart Donald Trump on Friday, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

The keys to the motorcycle were handed to Mark Warren by an employee of the Russian Embassy in the United States outside a hotel in Anchorage where the Russian delegation was staying. The employee said the gift was made personally by Putin.

The unexpected gesture came after journalists from the Russian TV channel "Channel One" accidentally met Warren on the streets of Anchorage before the summit. They stopped to look at his old motorcycle.

Warren told a television reporter that he had been unable to find spare parts for his motorcycle, including a new starter, because the factory that produces them was in Ukraine. The journalist asked Warren if it would be good for him if Putin and Trump resolved the conflict during the meeting in Alaska, and he answered in the affirmative.

The company "Ural", whose headquarters are now in the US state of Washington, announced that all its motorcycles are now assembled in Kazakhstan. After the war in Ukraine began, the company stopped all production in Russia, Reuters notes.
