Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref warned today that a new war with Israel could break out "at any moment", reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
On June 13, Israel launched a surprise military operation against the Iranian nuclear program, in which Iranian nuclear scientists and senior military personnel were killed. Iran responded with missile attacks and drone attacks against Israel. The US bombed nuclear sites in Iran on June 22, and a ceasefire was declared on June 24.
"We must be ready for a new confrontation at any moment," Aref said.
More than 1,000 people were killed in Iran during the conflict in June, according to Iranian authorities. Israel reported 28 deaths. Western powers and Israel accuse Iran of seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. Tehran denies having such ambitions.
